Renewable Energy Feasibility & Development

How can you be sure that the configuration has been optimized to maximize revenue generation? We provide critical information during the project identification and feasibility stages of your project through:

• Hybrid renewable energy micro-grid optimization.
• Resource mapping, constraints analysis, site screening, and identification.
• Energy production estimate analysis for solar, hydropower, and wind.
• Design optimization for hydropower, wind, and solar PV.
• Hydraulict transient analysis for pumped-storage and conventional hydro.
• CFD and fluid flow analysis for site and turbine design optimization.

Project Management and Turbine Engineering

We have helped oversee the design, procurement, manufacturing and commissioning of clean energy equipment and systems including:

• Preliminary vendor assessments, and expression of interest processes.
• ​Preparation of technical performance specifications for sole-source contracts or competitive bids.
• Co-ordination and oversight of contractors and sub-contractors for prototype and commercial turbine products, including conformance with contractual commercial and technical conditions.
• Quality review including technical documentation review, and Factory Acceptance Test during manufacturing.
• Preparation of installation and commissioning requirements.
• Lead engineer during commissioning of turbine/generator systems.
• Numerical modelling and design optimization simulation for development of new wind and hydro turbine designs.

I worked with Michael as a fellow member of the BC Sustainable Energy Association Board, and later when I was Executive Director. Michael had a major impact on the organization as Board Chair. He led the transition from a volunteer working board to a professional governance board, overhauled the organization’s governance policies and processes, and recruited increasingly experienced board members.
